SMALLab (Student Multimedia Accelerated Learning Lab) is a classroom-sized, transformational 3D learning environment for preK – 12 students and teachers to learn diverse subjects such as physics, chemistry, math, animation and more. When I first read about SMALLab in the New York Times, I knew I wanted to bring this innovative program to the teachers and students around me. Glazer Children’s Museum was the first museum to install a SMALLab Learning Environment. Since, students across 12 counties and regular visitors alike have had the opportunity to experience embodied learning using similar technology to those used in animation/motion capture games to improve their learning. SMALLab’s have proven to increase student learning and in the video, you’ll see why.
