About Jen Stancil
JENNIFER STANCIL IS AN INNOVATIVE AND VISIONARY C-SUITE EXECUTIVE FROM NORTH CAROLINA.
Stancil has more than 25 years of leadership experience in informal learning, notably at Carnegie Science Center, Glazer Children’s Museum, McWane Science Center and PBS. Her commitment to education in the K-12 sphere is matched by a passion for equity, belonging, and justice for all in STEM careers. A staunch advocate and actor in the Girls and STEM movement, she is the immediate past Board Chair of the National Girls Collaborative, Board Member and development co-chair for the National Association for Gifted Children, and a former Obama White House Advisor to his Administration’s Women and Girls Council. In her career, she has raised more than $12.4M to sustain mission-driven non-profits through relationships across government, individual, foundation, and corporate social innovation funds. And, as an Emmy ® Award Winner, her production of media from the curriculum of IMAX films and an American Masters documentary, numerous animated series, games, web experiences and a talk show captivates parents, educators, and youth across diverse topics such as math, science, technology, literacy, equity, and educational innovation.

Jen has led groundbreaking initiatives in STEM and non-profit organizations, including creating the first-ever motion-capture lab in a museum at the Glazer Children’s Museum and directing the nationally recognized BrainCake.org online community. Her work extends beyond the U.S., where she’s built programs and resources that empower under-represented groups, especially girls, in science, technology, engineering, and math to launch them into careers that define our future. Jen has extensive experience serving on national Boards and NSF advisory councils while providing strategic governance and oversight. She even was invited to serve on the Obama White House’s Council for Women and Girls (where she brought Malia and Sasha STEM gifts, of course!). She brings a results-driven approach, guiding organizations to strengthen their leadership frameworks and navigate complex decision-making. Her expertise in strategic planning, educational outreach, fundraising, event management, and marketing are hallmarks of her leadership. Jen empowers Boards to define clear goals, implement best practices, and achieve meaningful impact within both their immediate communities and across their national footprint.
Jen is open to National Board positions that begin in late 2025 and after.
